Tax collections will be taken by mail only.
No Cash! Acceptable payment by personal check, cashier’s check or money order only!
If you would like a receipt you are required to send a self addressed stamped envelope along with your payment. Please do not send your entire tax bill unless want it stamped "paid" and then you must be sure to enclose a stamped return envelope. Make checks payable to: Town of Kossuth, Judith Fierst - Treasurer, 9825 Parkway Road, Whitelaw, WI 54247. There is also a drop box at the Treasurer’s residence if you would like to drop off your payment.
If you plan to pay your real estate taxes in full, payment is due on or before January 31.
If you plan to pay your real estate taxes by the installment plan, please note the following:
- First Installment. Due on or before January 31st, payable to Town of Kossuth. Mail to Town of Kossuth Treasurer, 9825 Parkway Ln, Whitelaw, WI 54247.
- Second Installment. Due on or before July 31, payable to Manitowoc County Treasurer, 1010 S. 8th Street, Manitowoc, WI 54220. Do notsend the second payment to Town of Kossuth Treasurer.
- All personal property taxes, private forest crop, managed forestlands, and special charges are to be paid in full on or before January 31.
Real estate taxes of $99.00 or less per parcel must be paid in full by January 31.
Taxes Paid by Escrow Account Checks. Refunds for tax payments in excess of amounts owed will not be made “on the spot”. Excess payments will be identified and processed for board approval under Wisconsin Statute 66.042. All payments are approved by the board at the regular monthly meeting which is held on the second Monday of each month. Refunds under $1.00 will not be made.
Dog licenses will be issued by mail only. Send a current rabies certificate and a self addressed stamped envelope for the return of the tag, license and rabies certificate. Fee for a neutered/spayed dog is $5.00 and for intact dogs the fee is $10.00. Licenses are due by April 1st of each year. After that date, a late fee of $5.00 will be charged per license. All payments to be mailed to: Town of Kossuth, Judith Fierst - Treasurer, 9825 Parkway Road, Whitelaw, WI 54247. Checks should be made payable to the: Town of Kossuth and should not be combined with tax payments.
